Pedraza Customhouse Brokers Announces New Location in Santa Teresa, New Mexico

We are happy to welcome Pedraza Customhouse Brokers to New Mexico. They will be a key part in continuing the immense growth the New Mexico Borderplex region is experiencing. This project was a great team effort by all involved, including our partners at the Mesilla Valley Economic Development Alliance and Jerry Pacheco, Senior Business Advisor for the New Mexico Partnership and President and CEO of the Border Industrial Association.

November 22nd, 2022 – Pedraza Customhouse Brokers (CHB), Inc., an established customs brokerage firm with over 30 years of experience worldwide, has selected Santa Teresa, New Mexico as the location of its latest expansion. The Texas-based company’s new customs brokerage distribution center will occupy 8,000 square feet of existing space along the high-demand industrial corridor on Airport Road, adjacent to the Dona Ana County International Jetport. The project will join a growing number of logistical operations taking advantage of the New Mexico Borderplex area’s proximity and ease of entry into Mexico. “We are very excited to be opening a warehouse in Santa Teresa,” says Pedraza CHB Vice President Mary Frances Allen. “We foresee maintained growth at the Santa Teresa Port of Entry and with it a stronger need for our customs brokerage and warehousing capabilities.”

“Santa Teresa continues to attract a wide range of industries to the area and we welcome Pedraza to New Mexico,” says Melinda Allen, President and CEO of the New Mexico Partnership. “Pedraza is just one of the many companies that are recognizing the growth and advantages of locating of the border region in New Mexico.” Santa Teresa is a strategic location as the first port of entry between the US and Mexico from the east without a bridge structure. The passage continues to break its own commercial traffic records and is expected to continue as congestion increases in nearby El paso ports of entry. In the previous two years alone, the Santa Teresa Port of Entry has doubled the number of commercial vehicles processed per hour while still maintaining the fastest crossing times in the Juarez-El Paso Customs District.

With its headquarters in El Paso, Texas and a secondary location in Laredo, Pedraza’s soon to open Santa Teresa location will be the first presence it maintains outside of its home state. Serving both national and international clients, its expertise extends beyond customs to include logistics, freight forwarding, and warehousing business. The firm’s reputation for helping some of the largest importers in U.S. industry navigate NAFTA means it plays a pivotal role in advancing hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of global commerce—from auto parts, medical equipment, and even agricultural products. Pedraza CHB maintains ISO certifications and is a validated partner of C-TPAT, U.S. Customs & Border Protection’s, and Customs and Trade Partnership Against Terrorism program.
