The Business Model Sprint will begin Thursday, Feb. 15 and will focus on customer discovery, product-market fit and sales. The Pitch Deck Sprint will begin Thursday, April 18 and will focus on drafting, reviewing and improving your pitch deck. The C-Suite Sprint will begin Thursday, July 11 and will focus on skills, strategies, and capabilities for a startup team. The Venture Funding Sprint will begin Thursday, Oct. 3 and will focus on how to prepare a successful fundraise.
The Sprints are hosted by Scale Up New Mexico, a program partly funded by the United States Economic Development Administration and housed at New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center, which designed the Sprints in collaboration with NM Angels to offer startups with mentorship, guidance, and access to potential investment opportunities. To be eligible for TechSprint, startups must be based in New Mexico or planning to establish their base in New Mexico. It is also important for participants to commit to attending a two-hour virtual session weekly throughout their cohort.
Participants in at least one of the Sprints will also be eligible to participate in a pitch competition in the fall.
Scale Up NM provides a comprehensive suite of support programs for startups in the early stages of development. This initiative expands upon existing Arrowhead Center projects, including Sprint business accelerators, assistance with Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer and support for commercialization. The goals are to create more successful New Mexico-based businesses and generate more local, high-paying jobs.
This strategic partnership aims to provide invaluable opportunities for startup founders by facilitating direct access to angel investors and mentors in New Mexico. Scale Up NM recognizes the pivotal role that angel investors play in the success of early-stage startups and high-growth companies.
By partnering with New Mexico Angels, the program is enhancing its commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. This partnership will offer participating startups unprecedented access to mentorship, advice and potential funding opportunities. Scale Up NM aims to create a dynamic environment where collaboration between startups and seasoned investors flourishes, ultimately increasing the likelihood of successful fundraising efforts.
