Tom Hanks Movie “BIOS” Finishes Filming in New Mexico
May 23, 2019 – The New Mexico film production “Bios,” starring Tom Hanks, finished its final shots this week, according to New Mexico Film Office Director Todd Christensen.
The production filmed across New Mexico, including in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Shiprock, Los Lunas, Socorro and White Sands National Monument. The production hired over 530 New Mexican workers as cast, crew and extras for the film.
“Bios” was produced by Walden Media and Amblin Partners, led by Steven Spielberg. Amblin Partners is a television and film company based in Universal City, California. The company produces and develops its films by using DreamWorks Pictures, Amblin Entertainment and Participant Media.
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said in a press release that as the New Mexico film and television industry advances, more productions will want to film in the rural parts of the state. This will provide greater job opportunities in rural areas, she said.
