UNM Science and Technology Corporation

August 26, 2019 – New Mexico has been a hotbed of scientific development for decades. In the past few years, UNM has churned out some incredible inventions, and the business world is taking notice.

Eleven companies were formed to take advantage of UNM-developed technologies last year. In addition to licensing, UNM staff and students have made dozens of companies to bring newly developed tech to market themselves. UNM’s Science and Technology Corp. (STC) provides licenses for UNM-developed technologies to interested businesses.

The STC is housed at InnovateABQ in downtown Albuquerque. Innovate ABQ, a public-private partnership with plans to build 720,000 sq ft. of tech-related space in one location, is also home to technology transfer offices of major government and private labs in New Mexico. When completed, it will serve as a technology hub for businesses in the state.
